Just an uninformed outsider with a few Qs:
- What are the main reasons that the Sinhala government does not wish to grant independence?
- I know the whole island is around 65000sqkm, so why is Tamil Eelam almost a third of that area when the Tamil population is less than a fifth?
- Instead of a separate country, why is it not sufficient to have Constitutional protection of Tamils and other minorities to ensure they are properly represented in the Sri Lankan government?

Your questions are reasonable, if you are not from Sri Lanka. According to the history of Sri Lanka, Thiravidar (ancestors of Tamils) were ruling entire country. Later on Atiyar (ancestors of Sinhalese) came by boat from India. They were come as punishment for wrongdoings.

So, later on this community increased the population and, Tamils gave part of the country to rule them. Later on Sri Lanka captured by foreign bastards, they are portukal, olanthar, and England. When England rules, they joined all part of the Sri Lanka together. When they leave, they fail to separate as it was before. They are the one started the problem and still continues. We Want Our Country Back.
